TCC Life Groups or “Small Groups” are simply the House Fellowship ministry of Transformation Christian Centre designed to be the foundation for our discipleship mission through Transformation Chapels!
The Greek word ‘koinonia’ simply means: communion, joint participation; the share which one has in anything, participation, a gift jointly contributed, a collection, a contribution, etc.
It identifies the idealized state of fellowship and unity that should exist within the Christian church, the Body of Christ.
Koinonia was the fundamental basis for discipleship and the expansion of the church in the New Testament Christianity.
The early church believers in and around Jerusalem had no church building; rather they met daily in various homes for fellowship and discipleship.
Later, when persecution arose against the church in Jerusalem, believers were scattered all around the neighbouring cities and various metropolis under the Roman Empire.
These brethren continued to make converts, as well as discipling them using the House Fellowship method.
Later these home fellowships blossomed into big meetings requiring larger spaces as found in the New Testament Corinthian, Colossian and Philippines churches.
But the growth of the early church did not stop the expansion of the Home Fellowship all around the cities and communities. Suffice it to say that the House Fellowship is still the most effective pattern for any successful discipleship and church growth strategy.
